I get to know the families I photograph pretty well. We spend a whole afternoon or morning together playing, talking... a lot of families do this at least once a year. I love to hear their stories. Funny stories, love stories, each and every one so unique. It isn't very often though, that a story will bring me to tears. This families story was so amazing and beautiful. They went from infertility to finding the perfect little piece to their family half a world away... only to be twice blessed when they found out right after being matched with their chosen little girl, that they were expecting another one as well! Two little beautiful girls arriving within months of each other... one from China and one a miracle right here at home. Hearing the stories of the lives of these little girls in China... wow. How lucky and beautiful this little girl was brought into their lives... heartwrenching and lovely all at the same time.
I wanted to share a little snip-it of an email the family wrote to me...
"As you can imagine, having 2 new girls in our family this year has
made things a little busy around our house. We've been so impressed by
Emi's energy and optimism. She just turned 3 1/2 last week and has so
much personality packed into that little 22 lb. body. She fits into
our family like she's always belonged and took charge of her older
brothers from the very first week she met them in Wuhan.
It's difficult to imagine what little hope her life would have had if
we hadn't found her, but now that she's here, it's just as difficult
to imagine our lives without her. Our decision to adopt was one of the
most significant choices we'll ever make. It's a decision that will
impact generations to come."
I had such a fabulous time with you guys. Your boys were so fun, full of personality. It was a joy to be around so much love. Thank you guys for telling your story and allowing me to document it... ;)

the girls are just darling, but as you can imagine, i'm partial to the ones of the boys. love the locale. i know exactly where that is. :)

How ironic that I stumbled onto your post about this beautiful family; today, I just got back from the doctor's office and, yes, another "not pregnant" result to bear (after nearly six years). I just needed to unwind and do what I do best, photography. Thank you for posting their story. It gives me a little bit of hope that maybe one day soon my husband and I will have our own child to bring home ... everything happens for a reason.

I don't know if I told you about this. But I made a RSS feed page of all my favorite wedding and portrait photographer blogs, so that other photographers could see great work. I listed your blog on my list and you can see at here: http://www.netvibes.com/jaredrey . You can read the post I made about it here: http://http://blog.jaredrey.com/?p=473
Thanks for your great work!

I can't tell you enough on your refreshing story. After suffering from infertility for years, I'm back in the place where I struggle with not being about to add to my family. I have been blessed with amazing twin girls, with help, and can only hope I can have wonderful new additions as this family had. Thanks for taking the time to share their story. It was uplifting on so many levels. Please give a hug to the family for me and a BIG smile.
